Lorem Mapsum is a free placeholder map image service operated by Terra Helix Technologies Private Limited. You do not need an account to use it.

Data we collect

When you request an image from the API, the server logs the request. This includes your IP address, the URL you requested, the time of the request, and your browser's user agent string. These are standard server logs kept for operational purposes. They are retained for 30 days and then deleted.

The website at mapsum.dev uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics collects anonymised data such as which pages were visited, how long visitors spent on the site, and what type of device was used. We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information through Google Analytics.

The website and API are served through Cloudflare, which may set its own cookies for security and performance. These are not set by us. Cloudflare's privacy policy is available at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.

We do not require accounts, collect email addresses, or process payments. We do not set our own cookies. We do not sell or share data with anyone beyond the service providers described above.

OpenStreetMap

Map images are generated from OpenStreetMap data, which is licensed under the Open Data Commons Open Database License. Attribution is included in every generated image.

Third-party services

This service relies on Cloudflare for delivery and security, and Google Analytics for website usage statistics. Their respective privacy policies apply to the data they process.
